Title: Finite element modeling of the wave propagation within the biological materials.

Objective:

The purpose of this project aims to model the Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE) technique which will be applied on the biological tissues (muscles, liver, etc.). Experimental MRE tests will be performed in collaboration with  radiologist at the private clinic center. The MRE  experiment consists of the generation of a shear wave within the soft tissues. According to the  velocity measurement,  mechanical properties are  measured and the tissues  are diagnosed as healthy or pathological states. These data will help the clinicians to establish a clinical treatment and to analyze its effect.  In parallel, a modeling of the present MRE test will be performed to characterize numerically the mechanical properties of the soft tissues under investigation.

Required qualification: Master’s degree in Numerical Mechanics or Biomedical Engineering.

 

Required skills:

 Advanced knowledge in finite element modeling and simulation

 Programming expertise

 Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

 Good level in English or/and French

 

Available finance: French Ministry Scholarship ~ 1630 euros per month
